CONVERSION


The conversion of foreign driving license / EU driving license is a way as to equate a driver's license obtained in a foreign country in Italian.
The process of conversion of foreign driving license is very complex. It depends on citizenship - EU or not - the length of residency in Italy and the Country that issued the license.
Here is the list of foreign Countries, with which Italy has established relationships of reciprocity for which it is possible to perform the conversion of the license (the data is subject to change).

- Albania (bilateral agreement) valid until 15/08/2014;
- Algeria (bilateral agreement);
- Argentina (bilateral agreement): special conditions governing the matter;
- Croatia: only those bearing the letters "HR" and "YU" or "CRO";
- Ecuador (bilateral agreement) valid until 12/03/2017;
- El Salvador (bilateral agreement) valid until 19/09/2014;
- Philippines (bilateral agreement);
- Japan (bilateral agreement);
- Israel from 10.11.2013 valid until 10.11.2018.
- Lebanon (bilateral agreement);
- Macedonia (bilateral agreement);
- Morocco (bilateral agreement): special conditions governing the matter. Licenses drawn up on paper will be convertible until 31/12/2015;
- Moldova (bilateral agreement);
- Principality of Monaco;
- Republic of Korea
- San Marino (bilateral agreement);
- Serbia valid until 08.04.2018
- Sri Lanka (bilateral agreement): special conditions governing the matter, valid until 11.14.2016;
- Switzerland;
- Taiwan (bilateral agreement): special conditions governing the matter;
- Tunisia (bilateral agreement): special conditions governing the matter;
- Turkey;
- Uruguay (bilateral agreement) valid until 12/12/2014.
